Description: On the 9th day after he went missing, I woke up to find him padding though the hallway, much thinner, but very eager to munch on any food in
sight!!
I'm guessing that he was either shut in somewhere or lost- or, as one of
my friends likes to say, was having a grand adventure, saw his missing
poster and thought, oh, well, I'd better go home then!!
Thank you to all who checked their yards and streets for sightings:)
And I think next independence day, kitty will be kept inside!!!

Date Found: 03/06/2005 Evening |
Name: Oliver
Age of Pet :
Gender: Male
Breed: Burmese
Colour: Blue
Collar:
Size: Medium
Microchipped: No
Desexed: No
Description: How Oliver was found - we letterboxed just about every house in an 8 block radius to ensure we didn’t miss him incase he’d wandered further than we thought. We also placed an ad in the Advertiser. Over the 6 days he was missing we received numerous phone calls of potential sightings and spent a lot of time visiting those houses and pacing the street he was supposedly seen in.
He had been missing for 6 days when we received a call at 10.30pm from a girl saying he had turned up at her back door with her cat. Her cat had been banging on the back door for her to let him in and my cat also ran into the house when she opened the door. Because she had seen our flyer a few days earlier she knew he was lost and grabbed the number off of his tag around his neck and called us. Turns out he was only one street away.
Oliver is extremely happy to be home and his brother Charlie has taken him under his wing. Both cats are now indoor cats with outside visits only under supervision and they don’t seem to mind because they have each other for company.
My advice to anyone missing their lost pet is to be persistent and keep looking, don’t give up.

Date Found: 31/05/2005 Night |
Name: Harold
Age of Pet :
Gender: Male
Breed: Russian Blue
Colour: blue/grey
Collar:
Size: Medium
Microchipped: No
Desexed: No
Description: Harold went missing on Tuesday night. Unbeknowns to us, Harold was on the car roof and it was not until my daughter saw a shadow pass her window and we heard a thud that we realised what had happened. Unfortunately this time, as it was dark we didn't see him. We were approx half a kilometre away from our home when this occurred. I started calling for him but he didn't come. I went back a couple of times that night, but to no avail. After school we went looking again whilst putting fliers in peoples letter boxes. We were tapping a can of cat food with a knife and shaking a dry food box to try and entice him if he were hiding, but still we had no luck. Thursday evening at dusk, my husband and I went for a walk with Harold's brother Oscar following behind with his bell on his collar jingling. I thought perhaps if Harold heard Oscar he might find us. I started calling for him at the storm drains. The first one I came to, when I called I heard some movement. Oscar became curious looking in and as I walked across to another storm drain I heard meowing & Oscar became frantic, then we saw Harold's little grey head emerge out of the storm drain. He was so scared. We carried him home trembling in my arms. He had a big drink of water a big meal and curled up to sleep in his favourite place. He has been overly affectionate since. Harold & Oscar are off next week to be microchipped.
Thankyou to lost pet finders for their fantastic advice, sincere care and moral support.
